Praise and Worship Leader

Donnie Barber is the son of Pastor Darrell and Donna Barber. The bible declares a mans gift will make room for him, and this was manifested at an early age. Donnie first started on a praise and worship team as drummer at nine years old. He later became interested in the keyboard and now plays skillfully on that instrument. Donnie his wife Lori and their four children Makenzie, Ethan, Brady, and Seth became members of Good News Worship Center in 2006. He became the praise & worship leader at Good News Worship Center in 2008. The Lord has anointed his pen and he has written many of the songs we do in each service.

A Word From Donnie

Praise and worship go so far beyond lyrics and music, beyond the quality or sound of a song. Not everyone is called to be a musician or singer but we are all called to be worshippers. Worship begins in us, in our homes. When the Lord reveals himself to you and manifests himself in your life, you can’t help but worship him. His spirit draws worship out of us, deep calls unto deep.

Once we know who we are in Christ and that everything we are is an act of worship to him, it is easy to come together corporately and praise the Lord. True praise is contagious! Our worship takes us into the very presence of God and our praise brings us out of our situations! We may go into God’s presence beaten up, broken and scarred but by being in his presence we are being changed from “glory to glory”!

My heart cries out to musicians and singers who are looking for some way to express the gifts and callings God has placed on their lives. If we don’t make a place for these gifts in the church, they will easily find their place in the world. If this statement speaks to you, we would love for you to visit us at Good News. I believe you can hear and experience REAL good news that will totally change your life and bring you into a deeper relationship with the one who gave you those gifts. It is awesome to play or sing with talent but I challenge you to come and see what can happen as the anointing of the Lord floods your life!

God Bless,

Donnie Barber
